Commercial Valuation Surveyor – Birmingham – £35,000 - £40,000 + Car Allowance + Commission

What you will be doing

You will be providing valuation services across the Retail sector in Birmingham and surrounding areas, with a focus on conveniences, roadside retail (petrol stations), garden centres and other trading assets valued having regard to trading potential. You will be a key member of the firm’s valuation team of experts and be able to network with banks, investors, accountants, operators and more!

You will work alongside the lead surveyor and agents who form a national team of specialist retail experts. You will report to the Managing Director, whilst retaining a good level of autonomy. The brand, company reputation and market knowledge will help you to open doors and become a trusted advisor for clients to rely upon with confidence. You will also work closely with the firms other departments to cross-sell and gain business.

  • Surveying and valuing properties and trading businesses to determine value
  • Preparing and delivering detailed reports
  • Work in compliance with RICS rules and regulations and company policies
  • Develop your external network of key contacts, including operators, solicitors, accountants and other professional bodies
  • Generate business using email, telephone, individual initiatives and other marketing streams
  • Maintain awareness of market activity
  • Cross-selling Group companies
  • Using and diligently maintaining the firms CRM database of contacts, properties and projects

What you will have

  • Relevant Real Estate Degree
  • RICS Chartered Status
  • Circa two years post-qualification experience
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
  • Knowledge of retail sector and current market trends
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations, Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations, Estate Agents Act and Money Laundering Regulations
